Gas Turbine Market update

The global gas turbine market is evolving rapidly. As data centre development accelerates, the need for firm, dispatchable generation is rising faster than new capacity can be added. Grid operators and developers are increasingly turning to immediately available gas turbines and combined-cycle plants to meet near-term demand.

Several of our recently marketed units have now been sold, including 6 × Siemens SGT-800 (60 Hz), Titan 130 (60 Hz) and 9 × Siemens SGT-600 (50 Hz) packages. Our 1,500 MW and 810 MW 50 Hz combined cycle gas turbinesites are also in advanced negotiation with multiple buyers. This momentum highlights the exceptional global demand for high-quality, ready-to-deploy assets.

At CESS, we are engaged in multiple active projects requiring gas turbines that are ready to ship or can be returned to service quickly. We are particularly focused on unused, new, or very low-hour equipment with complete documentation and OEM service history.

We work directly with plant owners, OEMs, IPPs and credible intermediaries to match available assets with active projects worldwide. If you have available stock, or are considering selling under-utilised equipment, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss your assets.

Immediate Gas Turbine Requirements

Aero
- 2 × 30 MW, 50 Hz, liquid-fuel: LM2500+G4 or FT8 preferred. Modern, low-hour or unused units suitable for permanent installation. Mobile-to-fixed conversion acceptable.
- TM2500: multiple requirements, in operating condition.

60 Hz Gas Turbines
Any unit in operating condition, any size. Demand is currently unprecedented.

Industrial
- Siemens SGT-800 (50/60 Hz).
- Solar Centaur 50 C50-5701 or C50-6102, Taurus 60 and 70 (50 Hz or turbine only).

Combined-Cycle
- 200–900 MW complete CCGT blocks with low hours and credible relocation potential.

Active Buyer Interest

North America: data centre and grid-peaking projects requiring fast-track deployment.

Middle East: large-scale IPP and utility tenders seeking high-efficiency, dual-fuel-capable turbines.

Africa: IPP and government projects with near-term commissioning schedules.

We remain confident in the continued strength of the secondary market for well-maintained, modern gas turbines. Over the next 12 months, the urgency for fast-track power projects will continue to rise, and immediately available equipment will command premium value.

Our team will be attending ADIPEC in Abu Dhabi from 3–4 November. We welcome the opportunity to meet and discuss current or upcoming availability. If you have qualifying assets or are considering divestment, please contact us to arrange a discussion.
