Craigie Engineering Sales & Services Ltd (CESS) is a trusted leader in the brokering and valuation of power plant equipment, known for technical expertise, integrity, and a client-focused approach built over more than 30 years.

CESS provides independent advice to owners, financiers, and developers across the global power sector. The company combines engineering experience with market awareness, guiding clients through equipment sales, acquisitions, and appraisals with clarity and accuracy.

CESS was founded on the belief that global energy projects benefit from fair, efficient, transactions. Over three decades, this philosophy has defined the company’s approach, enabling clients to recover maximum value from surplus assets while promoting the responsible reuse of high-value equipment.

Every project is managed to protect confidential client data and market-sensitive information, ensuring that assets are represented accurately and that resale activity remains controlled. By maintaining confidentiality and preventing uncontrolled relisting, CESS safeguards asset value and promotes trust across all parties involved.

Founded in 1995 by Mike Craigie in the Orkney Islands of Scotland, with a new forward operational office in Glasgow, CESS as a family-run business delivers a level of personal service rarely found in larger organisations. Clients work directly with senior experts and benefit from consistent communication and accountability.

In 2014, Ben Craigie, Mike’s son, was appointed Managing Director, marking a new focus on large-capital asset resale for select clients and honing the advanced valuation methodology for complex power assets. Between 2014 and 2025, CESS completed 15.9 GW of projects for 42 clients in 28 countries, with 54% repeat business and over US $1.65 billion in combined asset value across sales and valuations.

Today, CESS has valued and sold more than 194,000 MW of equipment, representing over $8 billion in project experience across 130 countries on six continents. Its international achievements were formally recognised in 2004, when Founder Mike Craigie and his team received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise (International Trade) from Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace.

Through its long-term relationships, technical rigour, and disciplined professionalism, CESS continues to deliver accurate valuations, transparent brokerage, and dependable results - every project, every time.
