1995-1999
The first major contracts awarded to CESS were from John Brown Engineering Ltd to supervise the commissioning of the 20 & 40 MW diesel standby power stations at Coulport and Faslane in Scotland.
CESS were subsequently contracted to Born Heaters Ltd of Brighton to provide commissioning support in Pertamina's Balikpapan Refinery in East Kalimantan, Indonesia.
During 1995, CESS were successful in the sale of 2 x 40 MW LM 6000 gas turbine generator sets into Tanzania on behalf of Stewart & Stevenson and a 25 MW AEG steam turbine generator with auxiliaries to Binani Cement in India.
During 1996, the company completed a major contract for the South African Pulp & Paper Industries (SAPPI) cellulose plant at Umkomaas in Natal/Kwa-Zulu. This project (US$ 1.5 Million) involved the purchase, removal, and shipment of 2 x 6 MW Siemens Gorlitz steam turbine generator sets from Gotha in Eastern Germany and their re-installation at the Sappi Saiccor Plant in South Africa.
In December 1996, CESS sold eight Solar Centaur T4000 Gas turbine gen sets (8 x 2.8 MW) from South Africa to GENR in Louisiana. CESS at this time then purchased and de-commissioned a 3 MW Peter Brotherhood and 6 MW AEI steam turbine generator set from BPB Paperboard's Davidson Mill in Aberdeen, Scotland.
CESS also carried out a feasibility study on the repair or replacement of the hybrid energy scheme on Foula, West of Shetland, Scotland. The system has a wind turbine, pumped storage and a diesel standby.
Early in 1998, CESS were contracted by AECI Operations Services (Pty) Ltd. of South Africa to provide options for a 60 MW gas turbine cogen plant and deliver training to AECI on cogen design.
In June 1998 CESS were contracted by Sabah Shipyards to perform a market valuation report on their 5 power barges (totaling 420 MW) which they have available as a result of various cancelled IPP projects.
In July 1998 CESS were directly responsible for the sale of 4 x GE Frame 6B, 5 x GE Frame 5N and 4 x GE LM5000 gas turbines from Tenaga National Berhad (TNB) in Malaysia.
In August 1998 CESS were appointed by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to perform an initial valuation of all TVA's surplus assets and in December 1998 TVA awarded a further 3 year Direct Marketing Contract to CESS for their surplus and unused equipment.
In June 1999, CESS were awarded a Valuation & Marketing Contract by Midlands Power International for the disposal of their 15 MW Pielstick diesel power plant at Hereford. This plant was sold in April 2000 by CESS who then managed and supervised the de-commissioning and dismantling. In August 1999, CESS were successful in the valuation, marketing and subsequent sale of a gas-fired CHP plant for Esso Petroleum at Abingdon (Exxon Corp)
In October 1999 CESS were contracted by PT GE Finance in Indonesia to perform the valuation and marketing of two 4 MW Solar Centaur 50-5901 gas turbine generator sets. These units were then successfully sold by CESS to Petronas in Malaysia in May 2000.
In November 1999, CESS were awarded a contract by Maritrans Shipping (USA) to perform a market evaluation of their two GE Frame 3 and two Ruston TD4000 gas turbine generator sets in their tankers.
2000-2001
In February 2000, CESS were awarded an Exclusive Brokering Contract by TrustPower Ltd in New Zealand for sourcing, valuation and purchase option negotiation on 2 x 100 MW gas turbine generators.
During March 2000, CESS were contracted by PSEG Global Limited to perform inspection and market valuation on a 10 MW FW/Siemens unused wood waste fired power plant in Malaysia.
In May 2000, CESS were asked to perform a market valuation of 4 x 6.7 MW Wartsila 18V32 diesel engines by ENSCO of Louisiana and in July 2000, CESS secured an exclusive marketing and valuation contract with Simsekler Ship Repair in Turkey for the evaluation and marketing of 2 x Fiat TG16 (W191) Gas turbine generators.
In September 2000, CESS were appointed by Rolls Royce Capital Ltd to prepare a Secondary Market Report on aero-derivative gas turbine generators with particular reference to historical and projected future resale values of gas turbine generator sets in the 15 - 50 MW power range.
CESS were also then awarded a contract by Nomura Securities in Japan to provide a detailed appraisal of the present power generation market in Asia and report on the strategies of the key players.
Also in September 2000, CESS was commissioned by P T Menamas to provide consultancy and training services to PT Indonesia Power and to assist in the development of a Website and Business Strategy for the disposal of surplus equipment.
In October 2000 CESS were contracted by Rubu Biladi Est in Saudi Arabia to inspect, value, and provide exclusive marketing support on 2 x Allison 501KB gas turbine generators.
CESS secured a contract in October 2000 with Rolls Royce Power Ventures to provide inspection report and resale market valuation on 2 x Stork Wartsila 9TM620 diesel engines and ancillaries.
In November 2000, CESS were again commissioned by Rolls Royce Capital Ltd to prepare an Market / Asset Valuation Report on all stock aero-derivative gas turbines (Avons, RB211's, Trents, & 501's).
CESS also secured a contract in November 2000 with Jacobsens-Elektro AS of Norway for the sourcing, inspection, valuation and securing the option to purchase various gas turbine and diesel options for projects in Europe & Africa.
In December 2000 CESS were contracted by Enron Engineering & Construction to perform independent inspection and evaluation of their 4 x 3000 Tonne fuel barges in Cebu, Philippines.
In January 2001 CESS entered into a Joint Venture agreement with Penshaws Ltd in New Zealand and were subsequently awarded a Valuation and 2 year Exclusive Marketing Agreement with Mighty River Power for the unused 250 MW Marsden B Power Station.
During February 2001, CESS were awarded a contract by Merlin Production Inc of Houston to prepare a detailed study of the World's Power Barge Market. This study was completed in March and also involved the preparation of a database listing all the World's power barges.
In May 2001, CESS were contracted to inspect and prepare a preliminary market evaluation report on the 2000 MW Inverkip Power Station for Innogy / Scottish Power.
In June 2001 CESS were appointed by Arthur Andersen (the liquidators of Westmont Group & Techno Asia Holdings) to perform inspections and market valuation reports on the Victoria 8 Power Barge (48 MW, W251 in Kenya) and Victoria One (115 MW, W501D5 in Dominican Republic).
CESS were then contracted by Renova AB in Sweden to perform the inspection, valuation and marketing of their 14 MW AEG steam turbine in waste-to-energy plant.
In August 2001, CESS were contracted again by Arthur Andersen to provide an independent review of the contract documentation and Fuel Supply Agreement (FSA) for the 100 MW IPTL (Independent Power Tanzania Limited) project near Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.
During September 2001, CESS were asked by Arthur Andersen (on behalf of Techno Asia Holdings) to prepare market valuation reports on the Sky Two (Kenya) and Sky One (Dominican Republic) fuel barges with estimates for lasing/charter rates for equivalent units.
In October 2001, CESS secured a contract with Reliance Industries in India for the inspection, valuation, and marketing of a 25 MW Siemens steam turbine, and in November CESS supported Sinclair Knight Merz in New Zealand in the valuation of a 17 MW Alsthom steam turbine generator set.
In Dec 2001, CESS were approached by Price-Waterhouse-Coopers to prepare estimated resale values for an unused 7MW wood-waste/biomass power station, which one of their clients had decided not to install and planned to offer for ex-stock delivery early in the New Year. During January 2002, CESS were successful in the sale of two diesel generators, one to Smit International in Scotland and one to Hydro-Drive for an oil-related project in Nigeria
2002-2005
CESS' site activities in 2002 - 2003 have extended in valuation & appraisal work, with detailed technical due diligence being completed on a 300 MW CCGT plant in China for Peak Pacific, and the bottoming cycle equipment for 2 x 70 MW CCGT plants in Bangladesh (Rockefeller Ventures Ltd) and Bali, Indonesia (PT Indonesia Power).
CESS also carried out site inspection & appraisals on 2 x W501D5A units in the USA and 29 x 800 kW diesels in Tanzania for Rolls Royce Power Ventures, who also appointed CESS to exclusively market this equipment along with an unused GE Frame 6FA gas turbine generator set.
In January 2003, CESS completed the inspection and valuation of 3 x 17 MW Alstom steam turbines in New Zealand and entered into an exclusive marketing agreement with AARM/GATX Capital.
In March 2003 CESS were successful in the sale of a 1.5 MW condensing Dresser-Rand steam turbine to Tiso DOO in Slovenia and in April provided an independent assessment of a GE Frame 9FA gas turbine rotor for Miller International (Loss Adjusters).
During May 2003, CESS were awarded the Project Management contract for Victoria 5 (48 MW W251B11) Power Barge in Mombassa (Kenya) and also carried out inspection and valuation contracts for Ernst & Young on the Victoria 5 and 7 power barges in Labuan, Malaysia, plus the valuation of 30+ MW of Deutz packaged gen sets ex Kenya.
During June 2003 CESS were successful in the sale of an unused GE Frame 6FA gas turbine into India on behalf of Rolls Royce Power Ventures.
In July 2003, CESS were successful in the sourcing of 6 x 6.5 MW Fincantieri GMT diesel gen sets from China for a project in Vietnam, on behalf of Jacobsen Electro (Norway).
In September 2003 CESS successfully marketed and sold 2 x 1.25 MW Daniel Adamson steam turbines from MOD base at Loch Ewe (Scotland) to Haycarb in Sri Lanka and also a 15 MW Siemens steam turbine from Danisco (Sweden) to RBNS Sugar Mill in India.
During November 2003, CESS carried out inspection and valuation of 7 x Ruston TB5000 (2.7 MW) mobile gas turbines and due diligence inspections on a GE Frame 5P gas turbine in Dubai.
In February 2004, CESS was successful in the sale of a GE Frame 5N gas turbine from Genting Sanyen in Malaysia to Power Developments International in Dubai and the 124 MW (GE Frame 6FA CCGT) Fife Power Plant to Scottish & Southern Energy plc (for £12.3 M) on behalf of Ernst & Young.
In May 2004 CESS completed a study of available power barge options for Vancouver Island on behalf of BC Hydro and in August carried out the valuation of (3) x 7MW EGT Tornado cogen plant for Petroplus in UK.
CESS was also then appointed to handle the marketing of an unused 500 MW CCGT plant (2 on 1 MHI501F Gas Turbines) for UTE Paracambi Ltd in Brazil, and in September 2004, was contracted to provide desk-top study of replacement cost for a Mars gas turbine plant in Nigeria on behalf of Rolls Royce Power Ventures.
In October 2004 CESS was asked to carry out an updated inspection and valuation on Victoria One power barge in Dominican Republic, and the Dura 3 and Dura 4 Power Barges in the Philippines for a leading financial institution.
During Nov 2004, CESS have been involved in the valuation of another 5 gas turbines from cancelled projects and a zero-houred Frame 5N for Bahrain Electricity Supply & Transmission (BEST).
In Dec 2004 CESS completed inspection and valuation of another 13 steam turbines for CSR Sugar in Australia, and also signed an exclusive marketing Agreement on an ABB GT35 gas turbine.
CESS has also been contracted in March 2005 to market an unused gas booster compressor system and in April the marketing of a mobile Data Centre.
In May 2005, CESS completed valuation of a zero-houred 10 MW steam turbine in Poland and sold another 10 MW AEG steam turbine from British Sugar to RBNS Sugar in India.
CESS was also commissioned in May by Pacifico in Malaysia to inspect and appraise the Victoria 8 power barge (48 MW) in Kenya and in June CESS the sale of two Solar Centaur units from Turboshell to GENR in Florida, CESS also completed the valuation and marketing of an unused 9E generator rotor.
In July 2005 CESS completed inspection and appraisal of a 12 MW gas engine plant in Nigeria for Negris Group and were successful in sale of East Lancs Paper Mill plant (2 on 1 CCGT Tornado units).
In August CESS completed sale of an unused GE Frame 6FA unit from El Paso to EGSA in Bolivia and during October were commissioned to perform the valuation of 3 x 501F (540 MW) gas turbine plant in Tennessee.
2005-2008
In Dec 2005 CESS also completed appraisal of 4 x 165 MW steam plant for EPCOR in Edmonton, and in January 2006 sourced a 26 MW steam turbine for Hang Sieng Fibres in Thailand.
In February, CESS sold the 2 GE Frame 9FA bearings to Tri Energy in Thailand for Miller International Holdings and in March 2006, CESS completed inspection and valuation on 2 x 6.75 MW MAN Diesels in Spain for Tasiast Mauritanie Ltd in Mauritania.
During April 2006, CESS assisted client in Spain with Valuation and Marketing of 2 x 7 MW MAN Diesels and in May CESS assisted another client in Cambodia on Valuation of 15 MW Cat diesel plant.
CESS also succeeded in the sale of 5 used Solar Centaur units to GENR from Dubai and sourced some Saturn gas turbines for Jaguar Energy in Belize. In June 2006, CESS were again involved in performing a witnessed load test on the Cambodian Caterpillar plant, and provided accompanied site inspection of power plants in Spain and Cambodia.
In July 2006, CESS was successful in the sale of 6 x 1.5 MW Perkins diesels to Genesis Power for Sao Tome and in August was involved in the sale of the 22 MW Caterpillar diesel plant in Cambodia, which they then dismantled and shipped to Chile.
In September CESS was contracted to China Light & Power in Hong Kong to carry out an appraisal of their 2 x 86 MW ABB GT13D gas turbines.
In Oct 2006 CESS was contracted by RRT in New York to carry out a desktop appraisal of a 6.9 MW Pielstick diesel gen set and have since entered into marketing Agreement on that plant.
In January 2007, CESS completed inspection and appraisal of three Siemens steam turbines (total 79 MW) for BASF in Belgium and has an exclusive Marketing Agreement on that plant when it is removed in August 2007.
In February CESS performed desktop appraisal on future value of 3 x 5.5 MW Allen diesel gen sets in Mali for Rolls Royce Power Ventures and also completed Site Inspection for 20-30 MW coal-fired plant at Pol E Khomri cement plant in Afghanistan.
CESS was recently contracted by a venture capital group to perform Due Diligence on 105 MW Gas Turbine Power Barge in the Dominican Republic (Victoria One), which they subsequently bought.
CESS have also performed due diligence on Victoria 5 (96 MW, Malaysia) and Victoria 8 (48 MW, Kenya) and inspected 4 x Frame 5 gas turbines in China.
In August 2007, CESS carried out a technical Due Diligence and Appraisal on 100 MW CCGT gas turbine power plant in the USA for Morgan Stanley.
In Oct 2007 CESS were successful in sale of a low hours 96 MW Siemens steam turbine from Germany to Bolivia to EGSA for CCGT conversions on their two GE Frame 6FA gas turbines.
In Nov 2007, CESS was successful in sourcing and valuation of 3 x GE Frame 5 gas turbines for their investors in Indonesia (PT Sulzer Hickham) and in Dec 2007 we secured the sale of a low hours 2.4 MW Peter Brotherhood steam turbine from Grand Cayman to Geodynamics Limited in Australia for a geothermal test plant.
In Dec 2007 CESS sold an unused 5 MW Peter Brotherhood steam turbine & boiler on behalf of Gray’s Asset Recovery in Australia and assisted Diamond Offshore Drilling in sourcing some redundant Fairbanks Morse spare parts in Columbia. We also assisted IEA Associates on load testing of a Brush Alternator for Rolls Royce Trent gas turbine and completed valuation of some 120 MW AEI Alternators for Premier Power in Ireland.
In January 2008 CESS succeeded in sale of an unused 4 MW Peter Brotherhood steam turbine to XDT in Uruguay on behalf of liquidator in Australia.
Completed an updated inspection and appraisal of Scottish Power’s redundant “Inverkip” Power Plant (3 x 660 MW steam turbines & oil-fired boilers) for Spice Energy in India and during February we advised Mott Macdonald on valuation of 2 x GE Frame 9E gas turbines in UK and inspected and appraised 2 x 42 MW ABB steam turbines and a GE Frame 5 Gas Turbine in Saudi Arabia.
In February we completed an appraisal on 4 x Fiat TG50 (125 MW) Gas Turbines for Standard Bank of South Africa. In March we inspected a 50 MW steam turbine in China, and in April 2008 we were commissioned to carry out borescope inspection and technical due diligence on GE Frame 6B gas turbine and also arranged inspection and appraisal on 5 MW Typhoon gas turbine and 6 MW Ansaldo steam turbine.
During May 2008, CESS secured contracts to delver 6 x Solar Taurus units to CFR Nigeria.
2008-2009
Also in May 2008 CESS sold an unused 5 MW Peter Brotherhood steam turbine & boiler on behalf of Gray’s Asset Recovery in Australia.
During July 2008 CESS were instrumental in the sale of a 300+ MW Steam Turbine from Belyea to Nucor in USA.
In September 2008 CESS worked on a Desktop Future Appraisal of 150 MW Edenderry peat-fired Power Plant in Eire.
In October 2008, CESS was contracted to Bank of America to carry out market appraisal on 3 x GE Frame 7FA (170 MW) units in US plus 244 MW GE steam Turbine.
CESS also carried out another re-inspection on Dynami 2 (Victoria 5) Power Barge in Malaysia
In December CESS was contracted to owners to inspect and appraise the 10.5 MW Arbre Biomass CCGT Power Plant.
CESS also completed a technical assessment of power requirements for Crown Cork in Cambodia.
In May 2009, CESS was contracted to Sembcorp Ltd in UK to carry out inspection and due diligence on up to 100 MW of Steam Turbine/s power for their expansion on the Wilton Site in UK.
In May 09 we completed assessment on 3 x 117 MW steam plants at Ballylumford in NIreland for Premier Power.
In September 2009 CESS inspected and valued 4 x W701D5 (125 MW) Gas Turbines (which have been zero-houred) for Standard Bank of South Africa.
In Nov 09 CESS were asked to give budgetary market appraisal on 3 x Pratt & Whitney FT8 units.
2010-2011
In January 2010 we carried out summary appraisal on 13 MW CCGT Plant in UK for PB Power and in May we completed appraisal on two x Tornado CCGT plant in UK.
In August 2010 we again inspected and appraised the 4 x W701 Gas Turbines in Italy and in Sept 2010 we inspected and appraised 20 x GE Frame 9171E units which had been destined for Kuwait.
In Nov 2010 we inspected and appraised two Jenbacher gas engines for Independent Power in UK.
In Dec CESS was commissioned to inspect and appraise some 500MW of steam turbines in Caribbean.
In Jan 2011 CESS were again asked to undertake an e-Valuation on 3 x Pratt & Whitney FT8 units and in April 2011 we were invited by Contact Energy to complete a market valuation with an idea of future values in 4 year’s time.
